Internet users and surfers are getting savvier and will simply click off sites that contain useless information or are seen to be there simply for search engine rankings. When developing your page, be sure to add your vital keywords, but  don’t repeat them. Your pages should be there to benefit your users and promote your business. There’s a grey area between building pages for web crawlers and building pages for your users and customers. Keep ethical; don’t use hidden text or multiple pages. No point putting in hidden links or subscribing to companies who use unauthorized programs to submit pages. Keeping your site clean and useful, but of course optimized will always win hands down.

How to write great copy and grab attention!

First and foremost get straight to the point. Short, punchy copy and no technical lingo will get your point across, fast. Always use “positive” words. Eg, don’t say: This item will make the fattest person look thin. (Negative copy - fattest person). A spin would be: You’ll receive incredible results in just 2 weeks, or, sally lost 5 kgs in one week alone and now looks gorgeous. (Incredible, results, lost in one week alone – all positive words.)

An attention grabbing headline would be “how sally lost 10 kgs in just 2 weeks.” Or: an incredible weight loss story – 10 kgs in 2 weeks.” The key points here are “time” (works in 2 weeks) and action (lost 10kgs). It’s important to use action and urgency in headlines of course depending on the subject this can vary.
